Microneedling Results For Improved skin
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that helps to restore skin. It helps the skin create new elastin and collagen by using a device with fine needles that create tiny punctures in the surface layer of the skin. Microneedling can help with scars, pore size, the texture of the skin, fine lines, crepiness and overall improved texture. At Sculpted Contours, we can combine Microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) or another vitamin-rich serum.
Microneedling Results can help improve mild or moderate scarring from acne, stretch marks, large pores, fine lines, or loose or crepey skin.
Does Microneedling Hurt?
We know you want the best microneedling results so we want to go deep and make multiple passes on the skin for the best results. Prior to the treatment, our experts will numb your skin with a topical numbing cream to help minimize pain. We often hear this is a very easy procedure with minimal discomfort during the procedure and minimal recovery after your microneedling procedure.
What To Expect After A MicroNeedling Treatment?
Most people will experience redness and mild swelling in a similar way as mild sunburn for 24-48 hours and there may be minimal pin-point bleeding and/or bruising. Within a week or two, you will notice microneedling results when your skin is smoother and more radiant looking. Your full microneedling results won’t be seen until a few months later as your skin continues to build collagen.
There is very little downtime if any with Microneedling!
Any redness experienced fades very quickly to a pinkish tint that may last up to 48 hours. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommend medical grade Skin Care products to. use after the procedure to speed healing and improve microneedling results. Always use sunscreen to protect your fresh skin after any cosmetic procedure including microneedling treatments.
A series of 4 to 8 microneedling treatments are needed for “correction”. Many men and women use this procedure as a boost for skin health and collagen or as a maintenance procedure after other more invasive or bigger aesthetic procedures including facelift surgery.
A single microneedling procedure still produces results that show on your skin, but depending on your age and what you are trying to correct, you may want a series of microneedling to get the best results. Each microneedling treatment can be done once per month until you finish the series or see the results you want. After that maintenance microneedling treatments are done once every 3 to 6 months with a single procedure maintaining the results you have.
