Juvederm® is th #1 brand of hyaluronic acid based soft gel fillers for dermal injections. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that draws moisture and hydration into the skin producing volume and plumpness. Where Can Juvederm® be used?
Juvederm® Family of cosmetic fillers are each designed with different density and properties to treat specific areas or concerns in different people. A softer, thinner gel is used to treat the lips or under the eyes and a more dense gel is used to treat deeper to add volume to the cheeks. Only a consultation by an expert injector trained with the entire product portfolio of Juvederm® can determine what’s best for you.
Here are the most common areas to treat with Juvederm®
1. Nasolabial Folds: These are the lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Dermal fillers can be used to smooth and soften these lines.
2. Marionette Lines: These are lines that extend downward from the corners of the mouth. Fillers can help reduce the appearance of marionette lines, restoring a more youthful contour.
3. Lips: Dermal fillers can be used to enhance lip volume, define the lip borders, and reduce the appearance of lip lines (smoker’s lines).
4. Cheeks: Fillers can add volume to the cheeks, providing a lifting effect and restoring a more youthful contour to the mid-face.
5. Under-Eye Hollows/Tear Troughs: Dermal fillers can be used to fill in hollow areas under the eyes, reducing the appearance of dark circles and improving the overall contour of the eye area.

how Is Juvederm® injected to add volume to the skin?
Juvederm® is injected at varied depths under the skin to produce different effects of adding volume. Cosmetic Fillers are always injected into the dermis or deep dermis above the muscle and fat layers. Adding volume to this layer allows the filler to settle and draw added moisture into it to create a smooth, contoured and natural appearance.
Juvederm® is sold and injected by the “syringe” which is filled by the manufacturer and shipped to us sterile ready to use. Syringes are 1 ml (milliliter) which is approximately equal to 1/5 of a teaspoon of actual gel. This gel once injected attracts moisture from your skin and this causes it to plump up after it’s injected. Depending on the area you are interested in treating 1 to 2 syringes are typically used. Multiple syringes can be used to add volume to multiple areas of the face at the same time. This is sometimes referred to as a “LIQUID FACELIFT”. Many people opt to treat multiple areas of their face at the same time or in a series of treatments to produce full results and see the most correction of age related volume loss.
