So you’ve been thinking about CoolSculpting to get rid of those areas of stubborn fat that just aren’t going away. You’ve read all about it, watched a few videos and even talked to a friend or two that had the procedure themselves. You just aren’t sure yet whether you are a good candidate or not. How do you know for sure that this procedure that seems so perfect is a perfect fit for you?
Is Coolsculpting Right for You?
CoolSculpting is a procedure that’s right for ALMOST everyone. It’s not a weight loss procedure so if you need to lose a significant amount of weight (more than 25 lbs) or have fat that is more widespread across your body vs. targeted areas, this might not be the right fat reduction procedure for you. It also only targets subcutaneous fat (under the skin) not visceral fat, which is fat that is inside the abdomen behind the muscle. Unfortunately for the people that have visceral fat, diet and exercise to burn calories is the only treatment.
There are a couple of medical conditions specifically related to cold exposure that if you’ve got them, you can’t have CoolSculpting. Don’t worry, as an adult, you would know you have these by now. If you don’t have a medical condition that gets worse when you are exposed to our coldest winter days, then you are a candidate for CoolSculpting.
The only other considerations on the body are significant skin laxity. CoolSculpting does not tighten loose skin. It’s specifically targets fat stored in subcutaneous fat cells. It won’t cause skin laxity in the majority of people. Your skin will retract naturally just as if you lost weight. However, for people that have significantly stretched skin or a severe amount of skin laxity along with fat in the area, their skin might not fully retract after CoolSculpting, or weight loss or liposuction.
TruSculpt Plus Coolsculpting
If you have significant skin laxity in the area you want CoolSculpting to reduce the fat, this might not be the right treatment for you. You might also be a candidate for CoolSculpting followed by a skin tightening procedure. You could also be a better candidate for a FIRE & ICE Radiofrequency (TruSculpt) Plus CoolSculpting Treatment. This new protocol lets us tighten skin and reduce fat by combining two proven and effective non-invasive treatments for enhanced results.
So now that we’ve said who’s not a good candidate, everyone else probably is. A consult with an expert CoolSculpting assessment specialist is your next step to determine if you are a good candidate, which areas can be treated and how those would be treated. Furthermore, determining which applicator size and also how many applicators are needed to fully treat any area.
